The Student Association of Michigan: January Update

SAULT STE. MARIE, 31 Jan. 2013 – Never ceasing to fight for the 15 public universities in Michigan, The Student Association of Michigan (SAM) convened on the campus of The University of Michigan-Dearborn for another round of collaboration. The docket for the January 25th – 27th conference included development of the SAM Foundation, lobbying training, typical committee sessions and discussion on a major PR event.

The SAM Foundation will be an alumni network created to engage past members in the current administration and further spread the roots of the organization.

SAM Leadership Leading the Way for a New Year

The executive board met this past weekend in Ann Arbor to discuss the plan for the upcoming year and set out a clear path. The executive board made plans for voter registration, PR, funding and dues, and a flow chart for handling key issues.

"This weekend was another major step in the development of the SAM leadership," said SAM President Jay Gage (LSSU). "We not only worked on key issues that we will tackle in the next year, but we developed our teamwork so we can now handle all tasks with a clear resolve."
